I picked up this book after having a conversation where I couldn’t name more than one female executive in tech.

Here are my notes. Gonna try and remember these.

  • In negotiations, make it a “we”. Preface the negotiation and justify it.
  • When comparing opportunities, the main point should be which has the most potential for growth
  • You can take criticism and just mean things. Feel however you feel about them but move on.
  • Advocate for oneself.
  • On mentorship: excel, and you will get a mentor. Ask questions that can’t be answered on your own. Do your research. Be respectful of their time. Follow up with results of discussion.
